Behind the scenes – 2013 bridal campaign

It has been a busy weekend of back to back fashion shoots for FK creatives.  And one I’m really excited about sharing is our new 2013 bridal campaign. Quite often I work with different make-up artists while Kiran will work with other togs. It’s a great way to add variety to our work. But the jobs I love the most is when we work together.
While making the new site I suddenly realized me and Kiran had loads of images we collaborated on for fashion and wedding clients over the years, but the last time we updated our bridal portfolio work was when we first started the company!  So we were in desperate need of updating this side of our portfolio. So we began planning a shoot to coincide with release of the site. The great thing about this is there was no pressure of deadlines or clients …as we are the client! So the shoot was exactly what we wanted and completely relaxed and informal.
For us the model is vital when we do shoots, it can make or break an image- so we searched far and wide for the perfect face. We saw quite a few strong girls but in the end we hired a model called Karolina Bill. Karolina has been in modeling for several years now and has been seen in countless campaigns for established magazines, artists and photographers. I came across her through some recent work from fellow tog OMJ (who is fabulous)…the thing which I found most striking about Karolina is her perfect, almost symmetrical front profile- the ideal face for a beauty shoot. And of course a lovely personality, which made the day go very smoothly.
Usually on shoots which we are contracted for, we will work with multiple models, designers, stylists and will have to churn out 5-10 looks depending on the job. As this was our project we sourced all the costumes/jewellery from our own supplies and opted to use just 1 model with 4 strong looks. We also had our Henna artist Zarqa on board to apply some designs into the looks.  Zarqa is Kirans youngest sister and a regular assistant on our jobs. It seems creativity runs in there family and Zarqa is rising talent on the henna scene so was very excited to include some of her work.
I’m now in the process of retouching our shots- so far one has been released here, will update this blog as soon as the rest are ready!
Here are also some behind the scenes pics. blog3
Anyhows I better get back to retouching!
